Biography

I am a Researcher/Ph.D. student at STI Innsbruck, Department of Computer Science, University of Innsbruck. My Ph.D. thesis focuses on the use of Neurosymbolic AI to enhance the process of automated decision-making. My dissertation explores how to use various technologies such as machine learning, deep learning with semantic technology to provide scalable, efficient, interoperable solutions in an industrial context to enhance the automated decision-making process.

Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, I was a software developer at Auve Tech, a Self-driving vehicles and autonomous transportation systems company that develops a flexible level 4 autonomous shuttle. I also held a research assistant position at the Intelligent Transportation System Lab, Tartu, working on “Visual Inertial Odometry for Autonomous Vehicles relying on modern SLAM algorithms and Sensor Data Fusion” and a teaching assistant for parallel computing at the University of Tartu during his master’s studies. Earlier positions held by me include lecturer, teaching subjects such as operating systems, web technology, microprocessor and computer architecture, gazetted level 7 officer at the Ministry of Health Nepal as a computer programmer, and a junior software developer in MarketTools Research Pvt. Ltd. (now MetrixLab). Currently, I am involved in teaching and supervising student projects outside of research.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, India and Master’s degree in Computer Science with Distributed Systems specialization from the University of Tartu, Estonia.

Personal Note

Personally, I admire all of the teachers who have assisted (are still doing) me in imparting their knowledge throughout my educational journey. However, Jennifer Widom is the one I admire the most. I took her Introduction to Databases online at Class2Go platform, which was the first online course I had ever taken. I adore the manner in which she teaches.

I also maintain a separate website for the photography that I do in my spare time. Take a look at some of my work on my photography website.

Diversity Statement

My pledge to the Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity is the basis of human civilization; it is what sets us apart from others and defines our individuality. I believe that we are stronger when we work together, and that people from various walks of life and backgrounds bring unique experiences and perspectives that are essential for innovation. Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences has allowed me to observe the benefits of diversity and inclusion for innovation; I therefore endeavour to create a positive and inclusive workplace for all coworkers and stakeholders. Moreover, I believe that everyone has the right to fair treatment and equal opportunity, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, demographics, ethnicity, or opinions held. In addition, I believe that the vulnerable should be safeguarded and the underrepresented should be given the chance to develop. And therefore, I am dedicated to promoting these values in both my personal and professional lives.
